Child Safe Initiative
As part of our mission to educate and expand the knowledge and skills of our members in information security, we realize that it is important for us to be a resource to the San Antonio community as well. The Child Safe Initiative is a program designed to educate and provide a place that parents can come to learn about protecting themselves and their families from online threats, both as they exist today and where they are going tomorrow.
- Personal Safety
- Internet Predators
- Cyber Bullying
- Cyber Security
Our program focuses on 4 key areas:
We have developed a Parent Presentation that provides an overview of each of these areas as well as an open forum for parents to discuss some of the challenges they are facing and ideas on ways to minimize online threats.
What to do if you have been subject to an online attack:
Alamo ISSA is not a law enforcement agency. If you feel like you child is at risk or has been subject to threatening online advances or bullying, please contact the appropriate authorities.
- Cybertipline – Child pornography / Online Solicitation
- Cyber Bullying / Cyber Stalking
For Immediate Threats call 911. For non–emergencies, contact your local police department. You typically need to submit a police report with their agency and it will be transferred to the unit that handles internet crimes.
