The ISSA Education Foundation (ISSAEF) Scholarship Committee, at the request of the ISSA Alamo Chapter, has completed the evaluation of the applications for the 2019 ISSA Alamo Chapter Scholarship Awards. The Board thanks its Scholarship Committee, headed by Lorraine Frost, for all the effort vetting and selecting this year’s recipients.

Aramis Babcock (University of Texas, San Antonio, TX) received a $1,500 award from the ISSA Alamo Chapter.  Upon receiving the award Aramis stated “I’m really ecstatic about getting this scholarship and I plan on using this to help me continue my studies at UTSA.

Bhavjeet Sachdeva
The ISSA Alamo Chapter’s $500 scholarship winner this year Bhavjeet Sachdeva, University of Texas at San Antonio, TX. In commenting on the occasion, Bhavjeet said “It feels extremely humbling to be rewarded this scholarship to further enhance my education and obtain my degree.”

Girl Scouts of the USA 
If you haven’t heard yet, the Girl Scouts of the USA rolled out the first round of their new cybersecurity badges last week. At this time they’ve introduced a total of 9 badges for the K-5th grade levels; 9 more for the older girls are still in work and are expected to come out in 2019.
